specialist postpartum support
Nurturing care for you, your baby and your fourth trimester
The early weeks with a new baby can be wonderful - but they can also feel overwhelming and exhausting.
You deserve support too.
As a postpartum doula with 7 years of experience, I offer warm, wise and holistic support to help you feel cared for, rested, nourished and more confident as you navigate the fourth trimester.
My approach is centred around the whole mother - supporting your emotional wellbeing, feeding journey, physical recovery and day-to-day life with your baby.
Your postpartum care should feel personal
There is no single way to have a baby, feed a baby or recover after birth. I like to bring a nuanced approach instead of a rigid checklist of what your postpartum experience should look like.
My style is inspired by postpartum traditions from around the world, where these early weeks and months are seen as a sacred time for rest, nourishing food, emotional support and unhurried recovery — rather than pressure to “bounce back” after birth. Every family member’s wellbeing is important.
All babies are different, and I bring wide-ranging experience of supporting and settling babies with varying temperaments, sensory needs and sleep/feeding requirements.
Having a baby, and becoming a parent, are huge life transitions. You deserve to be cared for and supported as you care for, and get to know, your new baby.

my journey
I became a mother in 2015, when I had my daughter. I had a positive home birth, but I found the following months very difficult. I had a loving and supportive partner and extended family, but my family living hours away and lots of time spent alone once my partner went back to work felt like a real struggle. Without the right knowledge about what true postpartum support for the whole family could look like, I struggled with postpartum depletion compounded by an unsettled baby, sleep deprivation, lack of company and a very unregulated nervous system.
A few years into motherhood I read The Fourth Trimester by Kimberly Ann Johnson, a book that explained postpartum as a distinct stage which all cultures (with the West as the exception) treats as a time of rest, healing and community support. Rather than feeling like the problem was with me, I started to understand the issue to be systemic.
The book introduced the concept of postpartum doulas, and I enrolled on a doula training course to follow my passion to help transform the fourth trimesters of at least some of the mothers in my local area!
By the time I had my second baby, I was able to plan and prepare for a very different kind of postpartum. Supported by a wonderful doula, I was able to receive the kind of support I gave women in my doula role. Despite having a baby in the middle of a global pandemic, I was able to have the kind of healing postpartum I needed.
As an experienced doula, I’m as passionate as ever about supporting and validating the experiences of new mums. I can see some things change for the better, but there’s still so much to do to make sure mothers are honoured and given the care and value they deserve, which has such strong ripple effects for the baby, partner and whole family. I love doula work and am happy to blather on all day about the importance of supporting women postnatally!
