movement and stillness

We offer accessible movement, breath practice and deep rest to bring you back home to your body. With an emphasis on listening to your own intuitive preference and following your curiosity, you’ll experience real nourishment and appreciation for your body as we move and find stillness together.

There’s no pressure but there will be joyful connection with your body’s capacity, with options to feel strength and balance or allow yourself to rest. By the time you leave you’ll be feeling a million more times in your body than at the beginning of the retreat, with a renewed commitment to listening and looking after yourself.

the food

Delicious, fresh and plentiful vegetarian meals and snacks will be prepared by the experienced retreat team at West Lexham. Much of the produce is grown on-site and is certified organic, and all of the meals are designed to feel nourishing and comforting. Plus you won’t have to lift a finger for 48 hours!

Sample dishes:

  • squash soup, focaccia, pumpkin kale + buckwheat salad with root veg slaw

  • bean cassoulet + pistou, sautéed greens + tahini yoghurt, rosemary roast potatoes and beetroot celeriac and goats cheese salad

  • breakfasts include croissants and sourdough bread, cheese, local jams, shakshuka, homemade granola, overnight oats and freshly squeezed juices

It was the most gorgeous weekend retreat. Cold water swimming, yoga, nature, food, chats, walking, laughing, reading, just pure bloody joy. Thank you, thank you. Taking time out for yourself is never a waste of time.

Retreat facilitators

Chloe and Clare Proudfoot have been running retreats together for 3 years, and we’ve honed our approach to create retreats that are transformative as well as fun, playful as well as deeply restful and above all, nurturing. Our aim is that you feel completely looked after, with the autonomy to focus on what you need most from your retreat. Our schedules are always spacious, offering plenty of opportunities to come together with others for uplifting social time as well as time alone to nap, swim, read or walk.

We both teach intuitively and unhurriedly, working with an understanding of the nervous system and lots of compassion for wherever your body is at today. We focus on an embodied practice, encouraging deep listening to and expression through your body.

Retreats work their magic via the power of movement as well as stillness and rest, connection to each other as well as nature, wonderful food and comfortable, beautiful places to linger in. We’ve worked hard to create the very best experience for our guests, and we’re delighted to have many repeat clients who know the power of taking a bit of time for yourself.
