6 sessions at the beautiful Mat Sanctuary studio near Streatham Common
a community of 8 women coming together from November to November to support and cheerlead each other
a space held for you to come back to yourself via yoga movement, pranayama (breath practice), journalling, sharing, creating and resting
Over one year, including five half day events and a final evening closing ceremony, we’ll make space for ourselves to come together in an intimate and supportive community. We’ll draw on simple, powerful practices of embodiment and self-inquiry including yoga movement, breath practice, meditation, journaling, sharing and listening, creativity, seasonal ritual, restorative yoga and yoga nidra. Above all we’ll benefit from the power of a supportive group dynamic to supercharge our sense of connection and purpose.
This programme allows 12 months for a process of returning to a strong sense of where you’re at, what you need and where you’d like to be. There’s enough space between sessions so we can integrate the experience and start to put into practice some of what we discover. There'll be gentle accountability in the form of the same group throughout so we can return to where we left off during the last session, hearing about what’s come up for others and what’s changed.
We’ll meet in the afternoons in November, January, May, July, September and again in November 2023 for a special evening closing ceremony. As the weather and light changes we’ll come back to the same grounding container of our group and the beautiful Mat Sanctuary studio with a range of embodied tools to ground, calm and connect us. We’ll set and review intentions, explore themes, reconnect with creativity, talk, write, eat and laugh, move and rest.
We don’t have to do it alone. Most of us know innately that it’s better when we come together instead. It can be nerve-wracking to join an experience that might require us to be vulnerable in front of others, but also life-changing. Are you ready to create some space for yourself?

(Programme is subject to minor changes):
1. All Hallows Eve / Wintering
Sunday 6 November, 2-6pm
Our first session will be about orienting on our journey, setting intentions and starting as we mean to go on - with practices that allow the regulation of the nervous system. When we meet the year is waning, the temperature is dropping and the days are steadily getting shorter. This is the death of the year and like all cycles of birth/death/rebirth, there is great power in shedding and letting go. We’ll ground into this quieter energy, remembering the value of slow and steady progress and tending to the simple things.
2. First Day of Spring / Opening
Sunday 29 January, 2-6pm
We’re moving towards a threshold - it’s still the depths of winter but the traditional Celtic first day of spring (Imbolc on 1 February) marks the first day of spring in the UK. What might emerge for us next? When do we allow and when do we push for change? What does the energy of nature’s cycle, or a bud getting ready to bloom, have to do with us? We’ll review what’s happened since we last met, look forward to what’s to come and again drop into the rest that this time of year invites.
3. May Day / Budding
Sunday 7 May, 2-6pm
The Gaelic May Day festival (Beltane, translating as bright fire) is held between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. As summer officially begins we’ll come back to connection and celebration. Despite whatever happens in our lives, where do we find joy? Why is it important? How and when can we re-energise and remember what we need to?
4. Summer Solstice / Blooming
Sunday 2 July, 2-6pm
We’re moving into high summer, with maximum light, warmth and activity. Sometimes it feels amazing and abundant and sometimes it can feel too much and we need to protect our energy and our boundaries and remember we’re doing enough. Negotiating between this two places, we’ll celebrate this time of light and high energy, and practise ringfencing and conserving some of that for ourselves.
5. Harvest / Gathering
Sunday 17 September, 2-6pm
What are the fruits of our labour? What’s changed on this journey? On this penultimate session we’ll take stock as we move towards the quieter part of the year again.
6. All Hallows Eve / Closing
Friday 3 November, 7-9pm
A year since we came together, in this last session we’ll pull together the threads of our journey. We’ll name the things we want to build going forward and celebrate the changes that have taken place over the last 12 months.
