about me

I’m Chloe, a yoga teacher, postnatal doula, writer and group facilitator.

After a career working in communications in the charity sector, I retrained as a yoga teacher after having my daughter in 2015. I left office work for good after completing my postnatal doula training in 2019, and had my son in 2021. Now I spend my time teaching movement and supporting new mothers and mums-to-be.

Becoming a mother was a paradigm-shifting event for me. With hindsight I feel I came to it somewhat blind because of the lack of proper resources to support new mothers and a cultural language to adequately explain what motherhood really involved. A lot of what being a mother requires isn’t valued by society, so to survive and thrive it feels like we must give new meaning to this role and to an extent, remake ourselves as well as building our own village - no small feat.

My work to support mothers antenatally and postnatally has stemmed from this experience. As well as my doula work, I teach postnatal yoga, facilitate mum and baby groups with Gathered and hold online groups and circles.

I am always struck by the intuitive kindness in the way you teach and your ability to hold space for other people so beautifully.

Teaching a weekly movement class for all is a real joy to me, as well as my monthly 2 hour restorative yoga session, Nap Club. Staying connected with my body, being kind to it whilst playfully challenging it at the right times, honouring it by slowing down or resting when necessary is something I teach and need to keep learning myself too.

Lastly, the twice yearly retreats I teach with my excellent friend and co-facilitator Clare Proudfoot are some of the highlights of my annual calendar. Holding space for a group of brilliant people to come together to move, swim, relax and eat delicious food is a dream come true.

The yoga with Chloe and Clare leaves me feeling so centred in my body and in touch with how I’m feeling both physically and mentally. The way Chloe and Clare teach is so thoughtful and in a way that means people really do go at their own pace and move their bodies in a way that feels good for them.
